How to Craft The Perfect Instagram Caption
Captions are a powerful tool that can be used to encourage likes, comments, page visits and even leads to your website. Captions can quite literally make or break the success of an Instagram post and have the ability to stop scrollers in their tracks. What’s more, captions are a huge opportunity to build a strong relationship with your audience!
How can you craft Instagram captions you can be proud of? Here’s a few of the best tips to smash your captions…
Start by storytelling
The first part of your caption should be the most engaging and enticing, you need to ensure that you are gaining the user’s interest in the feed, without them having to click ‘more’. Tell your followers a story. It’s easier to not overthink and to just let the words blossom and come naturally.

Storytelling is ultimately a fantastic tactic to spark your followers’ curiosity with an intriguing statement.
Use a consistent brand voice
One of the most important parts of any successful caption is a consistent tone of voice. Your captions should mirror your personality, your brand, and they should sound and feel like your marketing channels. It is recommended that brands should use an informal tone when communicating with followers as it will take your posts more personable – great for engagement!
Emoji’s are everything
Emojis are great for two things – drawing attention and adding personality. You can either insert multiple emojis at the beginning of your caption to catch followers’ attention with a bit of colour or you can replace whole words with an emoji (I like replacing words!). Everyone loves an emoji, so have a bit of fun with it and experiment!
Nailing your CTAs
A call-to-action is essential. Basically, tell them what to do next! What is the purpose of your post in the first place? Adding simple call-to-actions to your Instagram captions like ‘double tap if you agree’ or asking a question will enhance your chances of engagement. Try to keep your CTAs as fun and as easy to do as users may switch off if they are too complicated.
All in all, Instagram captions can totally complete a post and really connect a brand to an audience. While creating incredible visual content for your feed is very important, if you want to increase engagement and reach new audiences, you can’t afford to leave captions as an afterthought!
